Material Requirements Planning (MRP) with ASCTrac®

To provide complete manufacturing requirements planning for your manufacturing and supply chain is almost impossible without a planning tool that is tied to real time information.

In solving this challenge, and to provide complete manufacturing requirements planning (MRP) for your manufacturing execution supply chain, ASC has an MRP module that is seamlessly integrated to the ASCTrac® WMS and manufacturing solution.

Our MRP module uses scheduling techniques to allow you to create and schedule work orders, create and schedule purchase orders, and it can plan these schedules based upon your future inventory and manufacturing requirements.

Additionally, it can use the forecasting statistical data from the ASCTrac® Demand Forecasting and planning module and it uses a planning workbench to allow fast approvals for PO or PO requisitions.

Our modules are totally integrated with the warehouse and manufacturing modules and other automated interfaces to track all inventory levels throughout your entire supply chain for real time information. This will allow you to take control of your manufacturing execution in a pro-active mode, not work in a re-active mode.

ASC Material Requirements Planning:

Take Control of Your Manufacturing

The primary function of the ASCTrac ® Material Requirements Planning Module is to allow you to visually plan your manufacturing execution for each plant site in your enterprise and quickly create manufacturing work orders. To create this advanced planning tool, we used two main requirements: "ease-of-use" and "proven planning methods." Whether your business is "build-to-order" or "build-to-stock," or a mix of both, you can accurately plan all of your manufacturing runs. You can see in real time the actual activity of all planned activity to see if it is on schedule.

Since ASCTrac ® is combining the views to all of your planned Work Orders, all Purchase Orders, and all Customer Orders, you (or your planners) will have full ability to see all plant sites for manufacturing execution planning. All of the critical information is at your fingertips in one module. If desired, you can combine this module with our Demand Planning and Forecasting Module to forecast future demand to auto-create Work Orders, auto-create component Purchase Orders, and see lists of required components, etc. This information gives you an even better picture of your supply chain manufacturing processes based upon forecasted demand.

Automatic Purchase Orders or Purchase Requisitions:

In addition to auto-creating and planning Work Orders (WO), the secondary feature of our Manufacturing Planning Module is the ability to ask the system to auto-generate Purchase Orders (PO) or Purchase Requisitions (PR). During this process, you have the flexibility to adjust the PO or PR by adjusting the quantities or the requested delivery dates to the vendor. This step creates a list of PO's in the ASC Planning Workbench process for you to plan or adjust before releasing to the purchasing system. If you have an external PO financial system that ASCTrac ® is interfaced to that supports a requisition process, ASCTrac ® can create the PR and submit all of the details to the financial system for its business rules in the PO approval process; else ASCTrac ® will handle the PO as you have it configured to do.

Supply Chain Visibility:

With the ASC Manufacturing Planning Module, you will have a clear (and accurate) picture of the products on actual customer orders with the time slots for delivery of those goods plotted with the actual inbound goods (purchased or manufactured.) Further, the forecasted sales-demand (purchased or manufactured) can be matched up, the dates at which these products will be available, the dates that components will be required for production, and the net result of the demand planning horizon. Any situations where the goods will fall below the amount required will be visible for the planner. This will provide easy access to see which items need action to insure 100% delivery on time of goods.

Executing the Planning Workbench functions allow WO's and POs to be created, and this will impact your supply chain in real time for complete visibility.
